FrightFest Glasgow 2026 Reveals Full Film Line-Up
FrightFest will return to the Glasgow Film Festival for its 21st year with a tightly packed three-day programme running from Thursday 5 March to Saturday 7 March 2026. Once again based at the Glasgow Film Theatre, the event brings together world premieres, UK premieres and international debuts across features and shorts, reinforcing its long-standing role as a launchpad for genre cinema.

This year’s Glasgow edition will screen eight feature films alongside a dedicated short film showcase spotlighting filmmakers exclusively from the UK and Ireland. The programme includes five world premieres and spans horror, fantasy, documentary and action-inflected thrillers, with multiple filmmakers and cast members expected to attend.
The event opens on Thursday evening with the world premiere of Jailbroken, directed by Vasily Chuprina. Set entirely within a single prison cell, the high-pressure thriller stars David Hayman, Bryan Larkin, Shauna MacDonald and Armin Karima, and will be introduced by members of the cast and creative team.

Friday’s programme begins with the UK premiere of Bury the Devil, Adam O’Brien’s exorcism-themed thriller from Canada, followed by the world premiere of Howard J. Ford’s creature feature Bone Keeper. The afternoon continues with the UK premiere of documentary Boorman & the Devil, which examines the troubled production and legacy of Exorcist II: The Heretic. The evening screenings include the UK premiere of Glenn McQuaid’s sci-fi horror comedy The Restoration of Grayson Manor, starring Alice Krige and Chris Colfer, before closing with the UK premiere of Kenichi Ugana’s social media satire The Curse.

Saturday opens with the international premiere of Connor Marsden’s action-horror Violence. This is followed by the Short Film Showcase, featuring Nazar, Foreign Bodies, A Hand to Hold, Muff, What Goes Round (Or Things That Go Bump in the Night), The Trick, Plastic Surgery and Behind. The afternoon continues with the international premiere of Japanese horror adaptation The Convenience Store, directed by Jiro Nagae. The evening programme includes the world premiere of Craig Conway’s fairytale reimagining Red Riding, the UK premiere of Serbian dystopian horror Kamadonna, and concludes with the world premiere of Australian fantasy horror Deathkeeper, directed by Tristan Barr.

With a line-up that blends emerging voices, established genre figures and a strong presence of premieres, FrightFest’s Glasgow return continues its close partnership with the Glasgow Film Festival and its commitment to showcasing bold horror filmmaking from across the world.
Festival passes go on sale from 10am on Friday 16 January, with individual tickets following later in the month. As in previous years, the Thursday night opening screening is ticketed separately from the main Friday and Saturday pass.
