‘Scream 7’ Sets February Return for the Slasher Franchise
Do you like scary movies? We hope so because Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group have released a new poster and a dedicated legacy spot for Scream 7, as the long-running slasher series prepares to return to UK cinemas on 27 February 2026. The latest materials place renewed emphasis on the franchise’s roots, foregrounding the now-familiar phone call imagery that has defined Ghostface since the original film’s debut in 1996.

The film marks a significant turning point for the series, bringing Kevin Williamson back into the director’s chair for the first time. Williamson, who created the franchise and wrote its early instalments, also co-wrote the screenplay with Guy Busick, working from a story by Busick and James Vanderbilt. The creative reunion follows a period of upheaval behind the scenes, during which the project underwent a full retooling before settling on its current direction.
At the centre of Scream 7 is the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, absent from the previous entry. This time, the story relocates Sidney to a quieter setting where she has built a life away from Woodsboro. That stability is shattered when a new Ghostface killer emerges and begins targeting her daughter, played by Isabel May. The premise shifts the threat from survival to protection, forcing Sidney to confront familiar patterns of violence in an attempt to end the cycle.

Courteney Cox also reprises her role as Gale Weathers, continuing her presence as the series’ most consistent returning character. Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding return as Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin, while the expanded cast includes Anna Camp, Joel McHale, McKenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons and Mark Consuelos. Roger L. Jackson once again provides the voice of Ghostface.
The newly released legacy spot focuses on the franchise’s recurring motifs, particularly the phone calls that precede each killing. Rather than teasing plot specifics, the featurette situates Scream 7 within the wider history of the series, underlining the continuity between the original film and its seventh chapter.

Produced by William Sherak, James Vanderbilt and Paul Neinstein, the film is based on characters created by Williamson and is distributed in the UK by Paramount Pictures in association with Spyglass Media Group. Filming took place in early 2025, concluding in March.
With the weeks counting down until its release, Scream 7 is readying itself as a return to core ideas while shifting some focus onto a new generation, anchored by the legacy of a character who has survived every previous Ghostface attack.
