Tubi’s ‘Hive’ Revealed With First Trailer Ahead of April Release

Tubi has released the first trailer for its upcoming original thriller Hive, offering an early look at the latest addition to the platform’s expanding catalogue of exclusive genre titles. The film, directed by Felipe Vargas, is scheduled to premiere on 17 April and will be available to stream globally via the service.

Starring Xochitl Gomez and Aaron Dominguez, Hive centres on a teenager whose routine babysitting job spirals into a crisis when the child in her care disappears. What follows is a search that leads her into an increasingly unsettling environment, where the threat appears to be concealed in everyday surroundings. The official synopsis describes a situation in which the protagonist must confront a force hidden among a group of children in a playground, as her sense of reality begins to fracture.

Gomez, who gained international recognition for her role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, takes on the lead role of a tightly wound and anxious teenager. Dominguez, known for his work in Only Murders in the Building, co-stars as the story unfolds around a contained but escalating scenario.

The project marks a further step into feature filmmaking for Vargas, whose previous work has spanned fantasy, science fiction and horror across both short and long-form projects. His earlier feature Rosario established his presence within the genre space, and Hive continues that trajectory with a concept grounded in psychological tension and perception.

Tubi, part of Fox Corporation’s digital division, has continued to invest in original productions as it expands its reach, with Hive forming part of a slate aimed at younger audiences alongside established genre viewers. The platform currently reports more than 100 million monthly active users, with a growing focus on exclusive titles designed for streaming-first release.
