‘Deathstalker’ Leads Shudder April With ‘Dolly’ Close Behind
Shudder has revealed its April 2026 programming for the UK and Ireland, with a slate that combines new original premieres with a broad catalogue of library titles spanning cult favourites, international anthologies and genre staples. Leading the month are two exclusive premieres, with Deathstalker arriving early in April before original feature Dolly closes out the line-up later in the month.

Premiering on 3 April, Deathstalker headlines the service’s exclusive offerings. Starring Daniel Bernhardt, the film follows a warrior cursed after retrieving a mysterious amulet from a battlefield, placing him in the path of assassins and a growing supernatural threat. The project also features Patton Oswalt lending his voice to the character Doodad, adding a contrasting presence within a dark fantasy setting. Positioned as a revival of a cult property, the film forms a key part of Shudder’s strategy to blend legacy concepts with new productions.
Later in the month, Dolly arrives on 24 April as a Shudder Original. The film centres on a young woman abducted by a deranged, monster-like individual who intends to raise her as their child. Fabianne Therese leads the cast, joined by Seann William Scott and Ethan Suplee, alongside professional wrestler Max the Impaler. The premise places emphasis on captivity and psychological strain, continuing the platform’s focus on contained, character-driven horror.

Alongside its premieres, Shudder expands its library with a wide-ranging selection of titles dropping throughout April. On 1 April, viewers can access a mixture of cult and classic works including Death Warmed Up, Willard (1971), Ben (1972), Luther the Geek, Three…Extremes, Three, Steppenwolf (2024), The Crazies and Season of the Witch. This initial wave reflects a blend of international horror, exploitation cinema and films from established directors such as George A. Romero.
Further additions continue across the month. On 6 April, Relaxer and Earwig join the service, offering contrasting approaches that range from experimental storytelling to surreal character studies. On 9 April, Shiver arrives, focusing on a woman pursued by a serial killer. Later, on 20 April, Bridge to Nowhere completes the month’s schedule, following a group of children encountering a hostile presence in the woods.

The April line-up is a great reflection of Shudder’s ongoing approach of pairing new releases with back catalogue titles, offering subscribers a mix of contemporary productions and established genre works across multiple decades and regions. There quite literally should be something here for every horror fan!
