FrightFest Reveals Nine-Film Line-Up for Halloween 2025 Event

FrightFest has confirmed its Halloween programme for 2025, bringing nine premieres to London’s ODEON Luxe West End across 31 October and 1 November. Following its 26th anniversary festival in August, the two-day event will showcase international horror from the United States, New Zealand, Turkey, the Philippines and Japan, with each film screening twice across both screens.

Opening the festival on Friday is the UK premiere of Primate, directed by Johannes Roberts. Set in Hawaii, the story follows a group of friends trapped at a pool party when their pet chimpanzee turns feral after a rabid mongoose bite. Johnny Sequoyah, Jessica Alexander and Oscar-winner Troy Kotsur star. A recorded interview with Roberts hosted by Alan Jones will follow the screening.

The evening continues with Deathgasm II: Goremageddon, Jason Lei Howden’s sequel to his cult heavy metal horror. This time, the resurrected band summons chaos while battling rivals in a local music competition. Friday concludes with Mickey Reece’s Every Heavy Thing, a surreal Oklahoma-set thriller blending comedy, paranoia and serial killer intrigue, featuring Vera Drew, Barbara Crampton and Josh Fadem.

Saturday’s line-up begins with Dolly, Rod Blackhurst’s woodland horror that introduces wrestler Max the Impaler as the porcelain-masked killer of the title. Next comes Affection, a science fiction horror directed by BT Meza and starring Jessica Rothe as a woman whose recurring memory resets plunge her into a disturbing mystery.

The festival will also host the world premiere of Posthouse, Nikolas Red’s Filipino supernatural feature about an editor who awakens an ancient monster while restoring lost cinema reels. It is followed by The Turkish Coffee Table, a remake of the notorious 2022 cult title The Coffee Table from director Can Evrenol.

The evening continues with Colin Minihan’s Coyotes, starring Justin Long and Kate Bosworth, in which a family trapped by wildfires must contend with predatory animals surrounding their home. The event concludes with Mag Mag, Yuriyan Retriever’s debut feature under the new K2 Pictures banner, in which Japanese folklore is reimagined through a modern lens of horror and dark humour.

Announcing the line-up, FrightFest co-director Alan Jones described the Halloween edition as an extension of the festival’s commitment to championing genre cinema across borders. Tickets go on sale from 4 October, with two-day passes priced at £80 and single tickets at £15.
