Leigh Whannell’s ‘Wolf Man’ Set to Transform Horror in 2025
Blumhouse Productions is set to bring the horror genre roaring back to life in 2025 with Wolf Man, a fresh, terrifying take on the classic creature feature. Directed by Leigh Whannell, known for his work on The Invisible Man and Upgrade, Wolf Man promises a pulse-pounding journey into the heart of fear, with the official teaser already sending fear into viewers’ hearts.

Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott (Poor Things, Possessor) stars as Blake, a family man who relocates to his childhood home in rural Oregon after inheriting it following the mysterious disappearance of his father. Hoping the quiet retreat will repair his strained marriage to Charlotte, played by Emmy winner Julia Garner (Ozark, Inventing Anna), Blake invites her and their daughter Ginger, portrayed by Matilda Firth (Hullraisers), for a break from their city life. However, peace is the last thing they find.
As the family arrives at the secluded farmhouse, their tranquil escape is shattered by a brutal attack from an unseen animal. Trapped inside, with the threat lurking just outside the walls, the family’s nightmare only deepens as Blake begins to exhibit increasingly strange and dangerous behaviour. As the full moon rises, the realisation dawns on Charlotte that the monster outside may not be the only danger they face.

The film features a stellar supporting cast, including Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama), and Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man). The script was co-written by Whannell alongside Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo (Dumb Money), adding layers of suspense and psychological terror.
Blumhouse, known for its ability to craft modern horror hits, teams up with Whannell once again to offer a bold reimagining of the werewolf legend. Wolf Man is produced by Jason Blum, with Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, and Leigh Whannell among its executive producers, promising a gripping and intense cinematic experience.
As anticipation builds for its 17 January 2025 release, the recently dropped teaser offers a tantalising glimpse of the terror that awaits, with chilling visuals and Whannell’s signature tension-filled atmosphere. This fresh take on the werewolf genre looks set to thrill audiences and reinvigorate a classic monster for a new generation.
Watch the teaser now to prepare yourself for the nightmare ahead.
