The 13th Summer 2024 movie

The 13th Summer centres on Ben (Nathan Phillips – Snakes on a Plane) and Vee (Hannah Levien – Brand New Cherry Flavour), a couple whose marriage is on the verge of collapse. In a last-ditch effort to save their relationship, they travel to a secluded beach house for their annual holiday with their best friends, Kate (Bec Hewitt – Home and Away) and Patrick (Jeremy Stanford – Relic). But things take a strange turn when Kate and Patrick never arrive. Instead, Ben and Vee find Alex (Ben Turland – Neighbours), a mysterious British backpacker who is inexplicably staying at the house in their absence.

As suspicions grow and tensions mount, the couple quickly becomes embroiled in a dark web of deceit, manipulation, and dangerous seduction. What begins as a chance to rekindle their relationship quickly spirals into a nightmare as they struggle to navigate the twisted mind games unfolding around them. With each passing moment, Ben and Vee’s survival is no longer just about saving their relationship—it’s about saving themselves.

The 13th Summer 2024 movie

Against the backdrop of Australia’s stunning coastline, The 13th Summer masterfully contrasts scenic beauty with an undercurrent of dread. The contrasting landscape of beauty and danger is something that has been well utilised in films before this, such as the unforgettable horror, Wolf Creek. Fans of edge-of-your-seat thrillers won’t want to miss the escalating drama and shocking twists as this sun-soaked vacation takes a deadly turn.

You will be able to catch The 13th Summer on digital platforms from 9 September, courtesy of Reel 2 Reel Films.
