Scottish Thriller ‘Kill’ Set to Shock Cinemas This September

Kaleidoscope Entertainment is gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated Scottish thriller Kill, hitting cinemas on 13th September. Produced by Synchronicity Films, the film showcases the best of Scottish filmmaking, featuring a gripping story of betrayal, violence, and survival set against the haunting backdrop of rural Scotland. With a nearly all-Scottish cast, Kill is poised to deliver a cinematic experience as intense as the rugged landscapes in which it was filmed.

Kill 2023

Shot on location at an estate in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, Kill brings the beauty and menace of the Scottish wilderness to the big screen. Officially selected for the 2023 Edinburgh Film Festival, the film has already received glowing reviews from critics, with The Herald praising it as “Taught and Original” and Loud and Clear declaring it a “Non-Stop Thriller.”

The plot follows three brothers, played by Daniel Portman (Game of Thrones), Brian Vernel (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Dunkirk), and Calum Ross (Wednesday), who decide to take matters into their own hands and end the reign of terror inflicted by their abusive father. After stalking him through the woods and burying him in a shallow grave, the brothers return home, believing they have finally freed themselves from his violent grip. But as they revisit the scene of the crime to recover a key to their inheritance, they find that their father’s body has mysteriously disappeared.

As paranoia sets in, the brothers begin to unravel, questioning each other’s motives and fearing that their father may still be alive. The tension builds as night falls, and the forest becomes the setting for a deadly game of cat and mouse. With an affable yet suspicious cousin (played by James Harkness of Darkest Hour and Rogue One) thrown into the mix, the brothers’ desperation escalates as they realise someone—or something—is hunting them.

Kill 2023

Directed with razor-sharp precision, Kill offers a deeply atmospheric thriller that plunges its characters into a nightmarish struggle for survival. As family secrets bubble to the surface, the film delves into themes of guilt, betrayal, and the primal fight for self-preservation. With standout performances from the cast, including Paul Higgins (The Thick of It, Line of Duty), Kill looks to be a must-watch for fans of psychological thrillers and survival horror.

Get ready for an unforgettable cinematic experience when Kill opens in Scottish cinemas on 13th September. Don’t miss the chance to see this edge-of-your-seat thriller in all its terrifying glory.
