Recently voted one of best genre film festivals in the World by Movie maker magazine, Grimmfest is a truly independent film festival that started in 2009. Since then the fantastic festival has grown to become one of the most prestigious genre film festivals in Europe premiering the very best new movies from both new and established filmmakers from across the world.
This year our exclusive interview feature is back bringing you some insidious insights into the frightful folks whose horror films will be blowing audiences away at Grimmfest 2021.
Below we get some Grim Tidings from Sebastian Perillo director of The Night Belongs to the Monsters
1. Tell us why you are at Grimmfest?
Grimmfest contacted us after the film won 3 awards for working progress in Blood Window (Horror Film Market in Buenos Aires) and I was very excited about the idea of presenting the film at a festival like this one.
2. How did you get into horror?
I love all kinds of cinema. But when I was a child, I was very impressed by some movies that I saw on television and I will never forget. Psycho (Alfred Hitchcock), Wax Museum (André De Toth), The Fog (John Carpenter) and some classic Argentine horror films like Death Walks in the Rain and The Boys from Before Didn’t Use Arsenic.
These films disturbed and fascinated me forever.

3. What scares you the most?
Amusingly, I am terrified of birds. I always say that if someone wants to murder me they should lock me in a small room with a loose bird and I will surely have a cardiac arrest
4. Who or what is your favourite horror character?
It is very difficult but I think that if I have to choose one I prefer Mike Myers. Halloween is a great example of how a great idea even if it is presented in a small movie can be incredible.
5. What is the grimmest thing you ever saw?
Although I love horror movies, in real life I am very impressionable so I avoid looking at anything that has to do with blood.
Every time I go to a hospital to have my blood drawn, I end up on the verge of fainting.
The Night Belongs to the Monsters plays Sat, Oct 9th, 9:30 PM @ Odeon Screen 6 on and you can find out more and book your ticket HERE.
