Five FrightFest Facts From Nick Hudson producer of Corvidae

1. Tell us about your film?
‘Corvidae’ is a fantasy / horror short about a girl in the countryside and what happens to her when she tries to protect a crow from some quite menacing boys. It was written and directed by Tom de Ville, and stars Maisie Williams. And oh, there’s no dialogue and it took us six years to make.

2. How did you get into making horror movies?
It’s something I’d wanted to do for a long time. Michael Myers still sometimes pops up in my dreams (or nightmares). There’s something really visceral about watching horror, and the longstanding genre is so iconic. It was great to be asked by Tom to look at his script. He’s someone who really, really knows the genre and can tell that kind of story in such an imaginative, charming and surprising way.

3. What film would you love to see screened at FrightFest and why?
I’m a big fan of ‘The Lost Boys’ so probably that. It’s obviously not the most “current” film, but I’m a sucker for 80s vampire flicks.

4. If you could create your own award to give at the FrightFest, what would it be and why?
It would be called the Brokolovsky Award and it would be awarded to a team for outstanding technical achievement in practical, in-camera effects.

5. If your life was made into a horror film, what would it be called and who would play the starring role?
“Unanswered E-Mail Hunter” starring Tommy Wiseau
