Tubi FrightFest Unwraps Nine-Premiere Halloween Programme
Tubi FrightFest is returning to Leicester Square this Halloween with mutants, folk horror, murderous neighbours, killer spiders and a post-apocalyptic werewolf all sharing the bill, as the festival unveils a two-day programme spanning nine premieres from five countries.

Taking over both screens at ODEON Luxe West End on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, the annual Halloween event will mark its 20th edition with each title screening twice across the weekend. The programme opens on Friday with the UK premiere of Freaks Part II, reuniting directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein with the mutant mythology of their 2018 film Freaks. The pair, who more recently co-directed Final Destination Bloodlines, will both attend the screening.
Friday continues with the world premiere of J.P. Davidson’s The Cull, a Cornwall-set folk horror starring Craig Russell, before closing with the UK premiere of American Dollhouse, John Valley’s Christmas-set slasher about a woman whose return to her childhood home attracts the obsessive attention of a disturbed neighbour.

Saturday begins with Talking to a Stranger, directed by Adrián García Bogliano and starring filmmaker Gigi Saul Guerrero in her first leading role. Michael Gabriele’s Unholy Night follows, turning a family Christmas Eve into a gore-heavy battle for survival after a long-dead grandmother returns with murderous intent.
The afternoon brings another world premiere with Sean Hogan’s The Dark Gets In, which mixes found footage and faux documentary as a film crew investigates a young girl’s disappearance. Hogan will attend with members of the cast and crew. Marcel Walz then returns to FrightFest with the world premiere of Brute 1986, the sequel to Brute 1976, starring Bill Kaulitz, Lew Temple, Gigi Gustin and Sarah French.

Saturday’s penultimate slot belongs to a London preview of Ángel Gómez Hernández’s Crawlers, starring Matilda Lutz as the manager of an apartment complex sealed off while venomous spiders spread through the building. The weekend closes with the UK premiere of Dead Howling, John V. Soto’s werewolf-versus-zombies survival horror starring Ryan Kwanten and Temuera Morrison.

FrightFest co-director Greg Day said the Halloween event “remains an unmissable highlight for genre cinema lovers”, adding that this year’s selection was designed to capture the spirit of the weekend.
Passes and individual tickets go on sale at noon on Saturday 3 October. A two-day pass costs £85, with Friday passes priced at £36, Saturday passes at £65 and individual tickets at £14.99, plus any applicable booking fees. To get yours, visit frightfest.co.uk/tickets/
