‘Alien: Isolation 2’ Brings the Xenomorph to FrightFest

The worlds of cinema and interactive horror will collide at this year’s Tubi FrightFest as SEGA Europe and Creative Assembly bring Alien: Isolation 2 to the festival for its first public UK hands-on experience, alongside a special screening of Ridley Scott’s landmark 1979 classic Alien.

Running from 27 to 31 August at the Odeon LUXE Leicester Square and Odeon LUXE West End, the annual genre festival will give attendees an opportunity to play the prologue of Alien: Isolation 2 before its wider release. The playable preview will sit alongside a Sunday afternoon presentation of Alien in the festival’s main Dolby Cinema auditorium, offering visitors the chance to revisit the film that introduced one of horror and science fiction’s most enduring creatures before stepping into its gaming successor.

Developed by Creative Assembly, Alien: Isolation 2 continues the acclaimed survival horror series that began with 2014’s Alien: Isolation. The sequel promises a new setting, story and protagonist while once again placing players against the relentless threat of the Xenomorph, with an emphasis on tension, stealth and survival that defined the original game.

The collaboration marks one of FrightFest’s most ambitious cross-media events to date, extending the festival beyond the cinema screen while remaining rooted in horror storytelling.

Games have long drawn influence from genre cinema, but opportunities to experience an anticipated title in a festival environment remain comparatively rare. Seeing Alien on the big screen before stepping directly into the world of its interactive successor makes for an unusual pairing, and one that feels particularly well suited to the festival’s audience.

Tubi FrightFest 2026 runs from Thursday 27 August to Monday 31 August at the Odeon LUXE Leicester Square and Odeon LUXE West End in London. Festival-goers will be able to play the Alien: Isolation 2 prologue throughout the event, while Alien screens on Sunday 30 August at 3.30pm.
