Arrow Video Unleashes ‘Hard Boiled’ and ‘Salem’s Lot’ in March 2026 Slate
It may be months off, but Arrow Video is setting out an unusually wide-ranging slate for March 2026, spanning Hong Kong action cinema, American television horror, European extremity, studio-era disaster thrills, satirical sci-fi and Japanese jidaigeki. The distributor’s latest announcement positions the month as one of its most ambitious to date, with multiple limited editions aimed squarely at collectors.

Leading the line-up is Hard Boiled, arriving in both Limited Edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray. John Woo’s 1992 Hong Kong action landmark has long been regarded as a defining work of the Heroic Bloodshed cycle, anchored by Chow Yun-Fat’s iconic performance as Inspector Tequila. Arrow’s new restoration is bolstered by a substantial extras package, including a newly recorded commentary by Woo, fresh interviews, deleted scenes and archival material, alongside premium physical packaging with posters, art cards and a collectors’ booklet.
Television horror also features prominently with Salem’s Lot receiving a Limited Edition 4K UHD release. Directed by Tobe Hooper and adapted from Stephen King’s novel, the miniseries is presented via new restorations of both its original broadcast form and the shorter international theatrical cut. Arrow’s edition includes newly commissioned artwork, a booklet and additional memorabilia, reinforcing the title’s status as a key moment in late-1970s genre television.

European horror is represented by Calvaire, Fabrice Du Welz’s debut feature, which arrives on Limited Edition Blu-ray. The film’s reputation for disquieting tone and genre subversion has grown steadily since its release, and Arrow’s package adds director commentaries, critical analysis and archival supplements.
From 1970s American cinema comes Black Sunday, John Frankenheimer’s adaptation of Thomas Harris’s debut novel. Headlined by Robert Shaw, the film is released on Limited Edition Blu-ray with new contextual material examining Frankenheimer’s career and the era’s appetite for large-scale suspense.

Comedy enters the mix with Mel Brooks’s Spaceballs, restored in 4K. Arrow’s Limited Edition UHD includes a Brooks commentary, documentary features and collectible artwork, underscoring the film’s longevity as a genre parody.
Cult rediscovery is another theme, notably with The Birthday. Eugenio Mira’s long-unavailable dark comedy, featuring a rare lead performance from Corey Feldman, is finally released in restored form with extensive behind-the-scenes material and filmmaker commentary.

Completing the month is Samurai Revolution Trilogy, collecting 13 Assassins, The Great Killing and 11 Samurai on Limited Edition Blu-ray. Eiichi Kudo’s films challenged romanticised depictions of the samurai era, and Arrow’s set includes new commentaries, video essays and archival interviews.
