Shudder’s August Lineup Is Your Ticket to Terror
Shudder has rolled out an ambitious slate of new titles for UK and Irish subscribers this August, bringing a mix of horror, thriller and supernatural films to its streaming library. The month kicks off on 1 August with the outrageous sequel Another Wolfcop, in which the booze-swilling Lou Garou returns to take on a corrupt brewery-backed hockey team in the quiet town of Woodhaven.

On 4 August Shudder adds two very different films. All the Gods in the Sky follows guilt-ridden Simon as he seeks supernatural relief for himself and his disabled sister on a remote French farm. That same day sees the arrival of Pelican Blood, in which a police horse trainer adopts a traumatised five-year-old and battles mounting violent outbursts to help her new daughter find peace.

Mid-month introduces some rarities and cult favourites. I Saw the Face of the Devil brings an 18-year-old Polish girl’s exorcism to life, while the dark comedy thriller Never Have I Ever traps a struggling writer in a day-long spiral of misfortune. Classic horror fans can sink their teeth into the 1995 body horror Castle Freak, about a family’s inheritance of a haunted Italian fortress. All three titles premiere on 11 August.

The festival-style surge continues on 18 August with a host of eclectic picks. Dark Angel: The Ascent follows a woman who escapes Hell and returns to punish sinners on Earth. The found-footage chiller Death of a Vlogger explores the perils of viral fame when a ghost-hunting video goes horribly wrong. Demonic Toys traps a policewoman, her prisoner and a delivery boy in a toy warehouse full of murderous playthings. French shocker High Tension unleashes relentless terror on two friends seeking solace at a secluded farmhouse. The barmy cult comedy Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama summons a devilish imp from stolen bowling trophies. And cult staple Tourist Trap stalks a group of friends in a roadside museum controlled by a telekinetic killer.

Shudder members in the UK and Ireland will also find returning favourites and exclusive originals in the expanded horror catalogue. Subscriptions to Shudder include access on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Prime Video, Roku and Fire TV.
