Dread Unveils Seductive New Vampire Tale SWAP

Dread, Epic Pictures’ specialty horror label, is set to release SWAP, a provocative new vampire film from director Dallas King. Known for his bold storytelling in Ink & Rain and Kiss Kiss, King returns with a twisted tale that blends horror with erotic intrigue. The film introduces viewers to a 500-year-old vampire who seduces a young couple, drawing them into a deadly game of desire and transformation.

Scheduled for release on 19th November, SWAP presents a daring twist on the classic vampire myth. As one of cinema’s most enduring horror creatures, vampires continue to captivate audiences worldwide, and SWAP promises a fresh spin by exploring the dark allure of power, seduction, and eternal life. In a nod to contemporary relationship dynamics, this story follows a couple trying to reignite their passion, only to find themselves in the clutches of an ancient predator. Played by Jessica Leila Greene and James Eastwood, the young couple is led into a world of forbidden pleasures by an exotic stranger who proposes a deadly “swap”—an invitation to join him as creatures of the night.

Dread’s VP of US Distribution, Yulissa Morales, described SWAP as “bold, provocative, and unforgettable,” expressing confidence that horror fans will be drawn to this unique addition to the vampire genre. This film looks to delve into the psychological tension of boundary-pushing relationships, a topic King believes will resonate with audiences seeking something beyond traditional horror. “Just when you think you’ve seen it all, SWAP brings a new take on the origin story of vampires,” King said, adding that viewers should “leave the wooden stakes at home” and prepare for a ride into the forbidden.

Shot with a sleek, modern aesthetic, SWAP leans into the themes of seduction and danger, heightened by Samantha Bird’s score and striking cinematography that underscores the dark sensuality of its setting. Rounding out the cast alongside Greene and Eastwood are Erin Anne Gray and King himself, whose presence brings an unsettling edge to the story.

Since its premiere at Serbia’s Dead Lake Fantastic Film Festival and Germany’s Weekend of Fear, the film has stirred interest among international horror fans eager for a fresh take on vampire lore.
