Edgar Wright, the film’s director and co-writer, expressed his excitement about the re-release: “Twenty years ago, the worldwide release of Shaun of the Dead changed my life forever. Its reception since then has continued to be incredible, largely due to the passionate fans who have championed it with cricket bats aloft. Now, as we celebrate its bloody 20th anniversary with a brand-new Dolby Atmos and Vision remastered version, I’m beyond excited for everyone to experience it once again on the big screen—the way it was always meant to be seen: large, loud, and with quite a lot of red on it.”

Originally released in 2004, Shaun of the Dead quickly became a cultural phenomenon, cementing its status in horror-comedy history. The film, directed by Edgar Wright and co-written by Wright and Simon Pegg, stars Pegg alongside Nick Frost. It tells the story of Shaun, a man who decides to turn his life around by winning back his ex-girlfriend, reconciling with his mother, and dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living.

The remastered version will be presented in Dolby Vision™, which offers ultra-vivid colours and incredible detail, and Dolby Atmos™, providing immersive sound that places viewers at the centre of the action. Dolby Cinema is specially designed to elevate every type of movie experience, and Shaun of the Dead is no exception.
