Jamie Langlands Unveils His Directorial Debut: ‘The Cellar’

A new indepenedent horror project is gathering pace in the form of psychological horror The Cellar, Jamie Langlands’ latest cinematic creation. Known for his screen performances in Hurricane, The Caller, A Prelude to Fear, and The Lockdown Hauntings, Langlands steps behind the camera for his directorial debut, crafting a haunting tale of survival and self-discovery.
The Cellar follows a young girl trapped in an underground cell with no memory of how she arrived. As she battles her inner demons, she must unravel the darkness that envelops her existence. Langlands, drawing inspiration from collaborations with horror and sci-fi legends such as John Landis (American Werewolf in London), William Bridges (Stranger Things, Black Mirror), and David Blair (Four Lives), plans to infuse the film with suspense, psychological depth, and visual artistry.
The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Meghan Adara, Neil James, Charlotte Marshall, Wayne Liversidge, Obie Dean, and Mickaela Sands. Their nuanced performances bring authenticity and intensity to the narrative, drawing viewers into the eerie realm of the film’s unsettling reality.

With it’s origins in the United Kingdom, The Cellar promises to be another promising offering from the rapidly expanding UK Indie horror scene that has given us films like How to Kill Monsters, Punch and the Winnie-thePooh: Blood and Honey films in recent years. As audiences brace for a descent into the unknown, Langlands’ vision offers a glimpse into the darkness beneath the surface, waiting to be confronted and understood.
Currently in post-production, The Cellar is still raising funds for post-production, VFX, and festival submissions. You can support the film by visiting their Indiegogo page, and in true Indiegogo fashion, there are some great perks waiting for people willing to invest.
