Tarot is written and directed by Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg, marking their feature film directorial debuts, and is based on the 1992 novel Horrorscope by Nicholas Adams. The story follows college students who, after using a mysterious Tarot deck, begin to die gruesomely, leading them to uncover the deck’s dark secrets.
The plot centers around friends Haley, Grant, Paxton, Paige, Madeline, Lucas, and Elise, who rent a mansion in the Catskills for Elise’s birthday. Their curiosity with an old Tarot deck in the basement triggers a series of horrific events, aligning with their tarot readings and leading to violent, gruesome deaths. As the curse’s toll rises, they seek help from an expert, Alma Astron, and embark on a terrifying quest to destroy the cursed deck and save themselves.
Despite mixed reviews, the film has grossed $45 million worldwide. Don’t miss the chance to experience this horror puzzle at home.
