‘Frightseers’ Web-Series Ventures into Production

A new web-series titled Frightseers is brewing up a storm of ghosts, gags, and ghastly delights. Spearheaded by writer and producer Peter Hearn, alongside director/producer Geoff Harmer and actress/producer Candice Palladino, this series promises a blend of tea, toast, and spectral adventures.
Set to lure audiences with its unique storytelling, Frightseers encompasses 42 episodes of intertwining tales that revolve around Agnes Carmichael and her ethereal acquaintances. The cast boasts a roster of emerging talents including Annabella Rich, Charlie Bond, and Candice Palladino, among others, engaging viewers with live-action webisodes and audio dramas designed to haunt and humor in equal measure.
Central to the series’ appeal is its commitment to practical effects, notably featuring a 7-foot-tall DEATH puppet, ensuring a visually stunning experience. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of influences such as Ghostbusters, British sitcoms of the ’80s, and web-series giants like The Guild, Frightseers aspires to be fun, frightening, and fantastical.

The creative minds behind the series are no strangers to the industry. Geoff Harmer is recognized for his work on the festival favourite Dead Air, while Peter Hearn penned and directed Scrawl, starring Daisy Ridley. Candice Palladino brings her experience from the web series It’s Daisy May and Blink, further solidifying the project’s foundation.
Beyond entertainment, Frightseers serves an educational purpose, with Hearn and Harmer incorporating their students into the production process. This initiative, dubbed Frightseers: Future Proof, aims to educate the next generation of filmmakers by providing real-world experience on a film set.
Production details reveal an ambitious schedule, with filming set to span throughout 2024, covering various segments of the series. The project is currently seeking funding to realize its vision, offering backers an array of enticing perks, from physical merchandise to digital exclusives.
With a track record of engaging storytelling and award-winning content, the team behind Frightseers is poised to deliver a web-series that combines comedy, horror, and heart. As they embark on this creative journey, their passion and ambition are evident, promising a series that will leave a lasting impression on viewers and contributors alike.
