Hammer Films’ Haunting Adaptation of “Doctor Jekyll” Coming to Digital

Hammer Films, synonymous with pioneering horror cinema, is set to release its latest gripping thriller, Doctor Jekyll, exclusively on Digital Download in the UK & Ireland from 11th March. Celebrating its 90th anniversary, Hammer Films continues its legacy of delivering innovative storytelling with this fresh take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic horror, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

The film stars the incomparable Eddie Izzard in a role that promises to captivate audiences like never before. Directed by Joe Stephenson, known for his work on Chicken and McKellen: Playing The Part, Doctor Jekyll is not just a film; it’s an homage to the essence of what has made Hammer a household name in horror. The film also boasts a stellar cast including Scott Chambers, Simon Callow, Lindsay Duncan, Jonathan Hyde, Morgan Watkins, and Robyn Cara.

Set against the backdrop of an isolated mansion filled with mysteries, Doctor Jekyll invites viewers into its haunting and enigmatic world. The storyline unfolds with a nun’s claim of immaculate conception, sparking fears of an ancient prophecy – the birth of twin boys, one the Messiah, the other the Antichrist. As a team of priests is dispatched by the Vatican to investigate, they encounter a series of sinister events and moral dilemmas that culminate in a profound realization about fate and family.
