Netflix UK announce I CAME BY starring George McKay, Kelly McDonald and Hugh Bonneville

Babak Anvari follows the BAFTA winning Under The Shadow and horror adaptation Wounds with London set neo-noir thriller I CAME BY.

George Mackay (1917, True History of The Kelly Gang, Captain Fantastic), Kelly Macdonald (Line of Duty, No Country for Old Men, Trainspotting) and Hugh Bonneville (Paddington 1&2, Downton Abbey 1&2, The Monuments Men), lead the cast along with Percelle Ascott (The Innocents, X+Y) and Varada Sethu (Hard Sun, Strike Back).

Babak Anvari directs and co-writes following his acclaimed BAFTA winning feature debut Under The Shadow and psychological horror Wounds on Netflix (ex. U.S.) starring Dakota Johnson, having also recently served as director and EP on Monsterland (2020) for Hulu.

I Came By is among the first titles comprising the new UK film features slate at Netflix, commissioned by Fiona Lamptey, focusing on developing distinctive British productions to create bold new stories to entertain and excite a global audience.

I Came By will shoot on location in the UK and will release on Netflix in 2022.

George Mackay follows his acclaimed role in the Academy Award winning 1917 and will shortly be seen in the adaptation of Robert Harris’s Munich: The Edge of War for Netflix and Nathalie Biancheri’s genre drama Wolf alongside Lily-Rose Depp.

Kelly Macdonald recently wrapped production on the UK adaptation of French comedy hit series Call My Agent, following her acclaimed turn in season 6 of Line of Duty. Later this year, she stars opposite Colin Firth in Operation Mincemeat (Netflix, US).

Hugh Bonneville recently completed production on Downton Abbey 2 and will shortly voice role in the adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s The Amazing Maurice.

Percelle Ascott recently starred in the final season of Tin Star following his starring role in Netflix supernatural drama The Innocents and joins I Came By alongside Varada Sethu following her breakout role in crime drama Hard Sun.
