Somnia Coming Soon

If you liked Oculus, the chances are that you’ll be interested in seeing Somnia.

That’s because writer-director Mike Flanagan is the man behind the forthcoming release and looks keen to ride on the wave of success that proceeds it.

Somnia, if you hadn’t guessed, is a film related to sleep. A young orphaned boy runs into trouble when his distrubing dreams and nightmares begin to materialise in reality – something not too detached from the Oculus idea. And if it can come close to matching the $44 million dollars that Oculus managed to attract, Flanagan will no doubt be a very happy man.

The film stars Kate Bosworth and Thomas Jane and is due for release in US cinemas in May. Interestingly, it’s currently certified PG-13 which implies that the scares may have been toned down a little this time around to allow for a wider audience.
