‘Insidious: Out of the Further’ Opens the Door to Digital
The rules of The Further have changed. Insidious: Out of the Further, the latest chapter in the long-running supernatural horror franchise, is now available to buy or rent on digital, with the new film turning one of the series’ central ideas inside out by allowing its haunted realm to spill directly into the living world.

Directed by Jacob Chase, whose previous feature Come Play also explored supernatural threats crossing into everyday life, the film follows Gemma, played by Amelia Eve, a young mother raising her daughter in the same house where she grew up.
Gemma’s connection to The Further gradually reveals itself as something far more dangerous than a conventional haunting. Rather than simply entering the purgatorial realm populated by lost souls and demonic entities, she discovers that she can bring its inhabitants back with her.
That ability transforms the familiar boundary between the real world and The Further from a barrier into an open passage, putting Gemma and her daughter directly in the path of creatures that now understand exactly what she can do.

Lin Shaye returns as Elise Rainier, the paranormal investigator who has been a defining presence throughout the Insidious franchise. Her knowledge of The Further places her at the centre of the new threat, particularly once it becomes clear that Gemma’s ability could permanently alter the balance between the two worlds.
Brandon Perea, whose recent credits include Nope and Twisters, also stars alongside Eve and Shaye.
The film is produced by Jason Blum, Oren Peli and James Wan, continuing the creative lineage behind a franchise that has become one of modern studio horror’s most recognisable supernatural properties.

Eve, previously seen in The Haunting of Bly Manor, takes the lead as Gemma, with the film positioning her personal history with the house and her responsibility as a mother as key parts of the story rather than simply background to the supernatural threat.
Insidious: Out of the Further is available now to buy or rent on digital in the UK through Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Get it now in time for Halloween!
