The Double Competition

The Double is an ultra dark comic thriller that has more than proved Richard Ayoade credentials as a brilliant director after gaining fame as an actor in such cult classics as The IT Crowd and Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace and we are giving you the chance to win a copy on DVD in our Competition for The Double.

An idiosyncratic adaptation of Dostoyevsky’s celebrated novella The Double sees Simon (Jesse Eisenberg) a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams, Hannah (Mia Wasikowska).

The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon’s exact physical double and his opposite – confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon’s horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.

Richard Ayoade’s new book Ayoade on Ayoade: A Cinematic Odyssey is also out on 2nd October 2014, releases through Faber.
