Love them or hate them it seems super heroes are here to stay but while movies may be repeating the same unoriginal stories with repetitive origin tales ad infinitum, TV is treading a new heroic path.
101 Films presents Howard the Duck (1986), title 008 on their Black Label and a UK Blu-ray debut. The sensational Science Fiction Rating System podcast that Love Horror’s Zombie2 features on already analysed this cult classic and you can listen to what they said below.
Opening directly where Death of Superman ended Metropolis is mourning the passing of their greatest hero Superman (voiced by Slider’s Jerry O’Connell) who was defeated by the seemingly unstoppable alien menace known as Doomsday sent to our world by the evil Darkseid (voiced by horror icon Tony Todd).
As well as loving horror I do also love super heroes so I was happier than Bruce Banner at an anger management seminar when I got invited to the press day for the brand new Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. at ExCeL London.
It’s the last part of our trip into the dark side of Marvel comics but don’t worry we haven’t run out of epic evil doers, murderous monsters or spooky super hero’s yet!
