‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Prepares for 4K UHD and Blu-ray
Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps will make its home entertainment debut on 20 October, arriving on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD following its successful box office run. The release comes after the film crossed the half-billion-dollar mark worldwide, placing it among the ten highest-grossing titles of 2025.

The film introduces Marvel’s so-called First Family into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm reimagined against a retro-futuristic backdrop. Under the direction of Matt Shakman, the story balances domestic life with cosmic conflict, as the four heroes face the challenge of protecting Earth from Galactus and his herald.
Fans and commentators have largely praised the production. Film Stories’ Maria Lattila described it as ‘pure escapism’, while Comic Book Movie’s Josh Wilding noted its ‘jaw-dropping spectacle and epic action’. The film is already Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Generally speaking, the last two Marvel release have felt more like a move in the right direction after a shaky couple of years for the superhero cinesphere.

The upcoming release will be accompanied by a selection of bonus features. Deleted scenes include sequences such as ‘Thanksgiving Soup Kitchen’, ‘Subterranea’ and ‘Birthday Sweater’. A gag reel highlights on-set outtakes, while featurettes chart the origins of the Fantastic Four as comic book characters and explore the film’s retro-futurist production design. Another featurette, ‘From Beyond and Below’, examines the process of translating figures such as Galactus, Mole Man and Silver Surfer to the screen. Director Matt Shakman and production designer Kasra Farahani provide commentary across the full film.
A SteelBook edition of the 4K release will be available in limited numbers, featuring exclusive packaging and a set of collectible art cards. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technology will be included on the 4K edition to replicate the theatrical experience as closely as possible for home audiences.

Distribution is being handled by Elevation Sales, the UK-based company jointly acquired by Studiocanal and Lionsgate in 2007. Since then, the distributor has expanded its portfolio across film and television, now overseeing one of the largest slates of home entertainment content in the region.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released on 20 October across multiple formats, with editions available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Zavvi and Rarewaves.
