Five FrightFest Facts with Anthony Cousins from ‘Frogman Returns’

A cult cryptid, found footage chaos and a healthy dose of amphibian absurdity. That’s the winning formula behind Frogman Returns, the sequel to Anthony Cousins’ 2023 underground horror hit that transformed the legendary Loveland Frogman from local folklore into a bona fide found footage icon. Picking up where the original left off, the film reunites Dallas, Amy and their elusive amphibious nemesis for another trip into the strange corners of Ohio’s most bizarre urban legend.

Anthony Cousins Frogman Returns

Cousins has become a familiar name within independent horror circles through projects such as Scare Package, Fat Fleshy Fingers and the original Frogman. A lifelong fan of DIY filmmaking, he represents a generation of horror creators inspired by the idea that all you really need is a camera, some friends and a monster lurking in the woods. That homemade spirit runs through the Frogman films, embracing the anarchic energy that has helped earn the franchise a devoted cult following.

Now hopping into Tubi FrightFest with its UK Premiere, Frogman Returns promises even more cryptid madness, surreal humour and found footage mayhem. Ahead of the screening, we caught up with Cousins for our latest Five FrightFest Facts.
