Five FrightFest Facts From Airell Anthony Hayles one of the directors of portmanteau horror Midnight Peepshow

The fantastic FrightFest returns to London for another year, bringing with it a gigantic horde of horror films playing across the August bank holiday weekend in Cineworld Leicester Square and the wonderful Prince Charles Cinema.

And if the brilliant blood filled horror festival is back so too are Love Horror’s Five FrightFest Facts, our exclusive series of interviews with the stars and creatives behind the horror that has been running since 2016.

Below we speak to Airell Anthony Hayles one of the directors of portmanteau horror Midnight Peepshow which receives its WORLD PREMIERE in ARROW SCREEN 26 AUGUST at 11.00 PM and SHUDDER SCREEN 26 AUGUST at 11.30 PM

1. Tell us about your film?
Midnight Peepshow is a portmanteau film loosely based around the idea of sexual fantasies that go wrong. It follows a man that stumbles across a phantom Peepshow booth in London’s Soho- though the sites it has to offer are tailor made to his deepest fears.

2. How did you get into making horror movies?
I got into making horror after watching A Nightmare On Elm Street and Creepshow as kid. Those films were so creative in their expression that I saw unlimited possibilities in the genre, and in film generally.

3. What film would you love to see screened at FrightFest and why?
The movie I’d love to see screened at Frightfest is Tom Six’s The Onania Club. If anything to hear audience responses to his latest hand grenade. Though I’m sure he likely plays it as pitch black comedy.

4. If you could create your own award to give at the FrightFest, what would it be and why?
Frightfest award would be for the person who sees every movie and parties hard at the Phoenix every night. That zombie deserves a gold medal!

5. If your life was made into a horror film, what would it be called and who would play the starring role?
If my life were a horror movie it would be called ‘I spit on your ‘elevated horror/ post horror’ label. The lead would be played by Corey Feldman, for no particular reason other than he represents eighties awesomeness…
