‘The Last Temptation of Becky’ Returns With Bloodier Stakes at FrightFest

After surviving neo-Nazi convicts and violent extremists across two bruising action thrillers, Becky Hooper is heading into her most dangerous assignment yet. The Last Temptation of Becky, the third chapter in the cult franchise led by Lulu Wilson, is set to make its UK Premiere at Tubi FrightFest, promising an explosive blend of high-octane action, dark humour and relentless carnage that pushes the series into even bigger territory.

Screening in the festival’s Main Screen strand on Saturday 29 August at 11.00am, the film will be accompanied by director Jenn Wexler, producer Chadd Harbold, cinematographer Julia Swain and cast member Noah Leggott, who are all expected to attend the screening.

Described by FrightFest as where Boy Kills World meets Kingsman, The Last Temptation of Becky finds its teenage anti-hero in unfamiliar territory. No longer simply fighting to survive, Becky has become a CIA field agent sent undercover to Poland, where she infiltrates a family operating an inn above the infamous Wolf’s Lair, Adolf Hitler’s former wartime headquarters. Her mission uncovers a dangerous plot to ignite a Fourth Reich, leaving Becky once again to rely on her resourcefulness and brutal instincts when official channels fail.

Lulu Wilson reprises the title role after establishing Becky as one of modern genre cinema’s most unexpectedly formidable protagonists. Having first defended herself against escaped convicts before taking on a violent extremist organisation in The Wrath of Becky, the character now finds herself operating on an international stage, with considerably higher stakes and an even larger body count looming.

Joining Wilson is Neil Patrick Harris, alongside horror favourite Kate Siegel and James Urbaniak. The screenplay reunites franchise writers Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote with director Jenn Wexler, whose previous features include The Ranger and The Sacrifice Game.

Wexler has steadily built a reputation within contemporary independent horror by combining sharp character work with genre storytelling, making her an intriguing choice to guide the franchise into its next phase. While the series has always balanced outrageous violence with an irreverent streak, this latest instalment appears determined to widen its scope without abandoning the chaotic energy that earned Becky an enthusiastic following.

The film continues the evolution of a character who has quietly become one of independent action horror’s most resilient survivors, refusing to fit neatly into either genre.
