‘Jitters’ Unleashes AI Terror on Blu-ray
A detective drawn into a sinister online simulation finds himself confronting both artificial intelligence and personal trauma in Jitters, the British horror thriller arriving on Blu-ray on 18 May following its earlier digital release.

Released by Reel2Reel Films and 101 Films, the feature marks the latest genre effort from director and producer Marc Zammit, whose previous projects include Witch and Homeless Ashes. Written by George Willcox, Jitters blends police procedural elements with psychological horror and contemporary fears surrounding digital culture and AI technology.
Fabrizio Santino leads the cast as Detective Collymore, a weary investigator and single father assigned to examine the unexplained death of a young woman. Although authorities initially rule the case as natural causes, Collymore’s suspicions lead him towards an obscure underground video game known as Jitters, whispered about in hidden corners of the internet.

As his investigation deepens, the detective becomes entangled in a dangerous simulation that appears capable of manipulating reality itself. According to the film’s synopsis, Collymore is forced to confront “the horrors coded into the system” while facing darker truths about his own life if he hopes to protect his family.
Santino, known for roles in Captain America: The First Avenger and Hollyoaks, is joined by Anto Sharp as Detective Harding and Daniel Jordan in the title role. The supporting cast also includes Boo Miller, Jess Impiazzi, Lauren Budd, Richard Wisker, Ritchi Edwards and Chloe Hews.
The Blu-ray release follows the film’s UK digital debut earlier this year and arrives with growing interest in technology-driven horror stories centred around artificial intelligence and online spaces. Zammit has increasingly focused on socially rooted genre storytelling through his production company Skylark Vision, drawing on nearly two decades of acting experience in productions including The Bill, Silent Witness and Law & Order.

The film’s presentation of AI horror places it firmly within a contemporary trend of genre cinema exploring technology’s invasive role in everyday life. Rather than depicting futuristic machinery, Jitters frames terror through online obsession, hidden communities and manipulated perception.
The Blu-ray edition arrives as part of an expanded home entertainment release from Reel2Reel Films and 101 Films, giving audiences another opportunity to revisit the film following its digital rollout in March.
Jitters is available now on digital platforms and arrives on Blu-ray on 18 May 2026.
