‘Send Help’ Heads to 4K With New Bonus Features
Sam Raimi’s survival thriller Send Help is set to arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD in the UK on 4 May, following its theatrical run earlier this year.

Released by 20th Century Studios, the film pairs Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien as two corporate colleagues stranded on a remote island after a plane crash. The story follows Linda Liddle, an overlooked strategist, and her boss Bradley Preston as they attempt to survive in isolation, with tensions between them escalating as their situation deteriorates.
Raimi, whose previous work includes The Evil Dead trilogy and Drag Me to Hell, directs from a screenplay by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. The project marks a return to genre filmmaking for the director, combining elements of survival drama with darker humour. According to production notes, the film was developed around a reversal of workplace dynamics, placing the characters in an environment where conventional power structures no longer apply.
Send Help premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on 21 January before opening widely on 30 January. The film performed strongly at the box office, grossing $94 million worldwide against a reported $40 million budget. It debuted at number one in North America with an opening weekend of $19.1 million and went on to maintain steady returns across subsequent weeks.

Critical response has also been positive, with the film holding a 93 per cent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Reviews highlighted the performances of McAdams and O’Brien, alongside Raimi’s direction and the film’s tonal shifts. The score is composed by Danny Elfman, a frequent collaborator of Raimi, whose previous credits include Spider-Man and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The home release includes over two hours of additional material. Among the features are deleted scenes, a selection of outtakes titled ‘Send Bloppers’, and behind-the-scenes segments exploring key sequences such as the film’s boar hunt. Further featurettes focus on McAdams’ preparation for the role, including survival training, and Elfman’s approach to composing the score. An audio commentary from Raimi and producer Zainab Azizi is also included.

The film’s central premise sees Linda forced to rely on her own resourcefulness after the crash, navigating both the physical challenges of the island and the increasingly volatile relationship with her co-survivor. As events unfold, the balance between cooperation and conflict becomes a defining element of the story, and it’s hard to tell which way things will go.
Send Help will be available to purchase across major retailers including Amazon, HMV and Rarewaves from 4 May.
