Zazie Beetz Fights for Survival in ‘They Will Kill You’
Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer and poster for They Will Kill You, offering a clearer look at Kirill Sokolov’s latest genre outing ahead of its UK and US cinema release on 27 March 2026. Backed by New Line Cinema and Nocturna, the film blends horror, action and pitch-black comedy, placing a desperate protagonist inside a towering urban nightmare with no obvious escape route.

Led by Zazie Beetz, the film follows a woman who answers a vague job advertisement for a live-in housekeeper at a striking New York City high-rise. What appears to be a fresh start quickly becomes something far more dangerous as she uncovers a disturbing history of disappearances tied to the building. Rumours of ritual sacrifice and secretive residents give way to open violence, with the structure itself revealed as a carefully constructed trap designed to test survival at its most brutal.
The newly released footage leans heavily into the film’s relentless momentum, showcasing close-quarters confrontations, sudden reversals of power and a central character who proves far more capable than first impressions suggest. The trailer hints at a past shaped by incarceration, reframing Beetz’s character as someone equipped for combat when circumstances demand it. The tone suggests a knowingly excessive approach, pairing graphic set pieces with moments of dark levity… Definite Ready or Not vibes – which can only be a good thing.

The supporting cast includes Myha’La, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham and Patricia Arquette, all playing figures who appear to shift between ally and threat as the night progresses. Sokolov co-wrote the screenplay with Alex Litvak, continuing a collaboration that leans into heightened violence and stylised action. Production is overseen by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Dan Kagan, with the project also counting Skydance Media among its studio partners.
Behind the camera, Sokolov reunites with a creative team that emphasises strong visual control, including cinematographer Isaac Bauman and editor Luke Doolan. The film’s score is composed by Carlos Rafael Rivera.

They Will Kill You arrives at a time when genre films are increasingly leaning into hybrid forms, and this release positions itself as a confrontational crowd-pleaser designed for the big screen. Warner Bros. Pictures will handle distribution in the UK and US, with the film also scheduled for a wider international rollout later in the spring.
