New ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Trailer Reveals a Fresh Nightmare
The haunting halls of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza are open once again as Blumhouse releases the terrifying new trailer and poster for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Directed by Emma Tammi, the highly anticipated sequel to 2023’s record-breaking horror hit will arrive in UK cinemas on 5 December 2025, promising a darker, deadlier chapter in the saga of animatronic nightmares.

The new footage teases a chilling expansion of the world first introduced in the original film, which grossed nearly $300 million worldwide and became Blumhouse’s biggest horror release to date. Once again based on Scott Cawthon’s globally popular video game franchise, the sequel reunites audiences with Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and his younger sister Abby (Piper Rubio), one year after the harrowing events at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
Now, with the restaurant’s blood-soaked legacy reduced to myth, the small town is preparing for its first “Fazfest” – a theme event celebrating the legend of the haunted pizzeria. But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with her long-lost animatronic companions Freddy, Chica, Bonnie and Foxy, she sets in motion a terrifying chain of events that threaten to awaken horrors buried deep within the franchise’s twisted mythology.
Returning cast members include Elizabeth Lail as police officer Vanessa and Matthew Lillard reprising his sinister role as William Afton, alongside Theodus Crane as Jeremiah. They are joined by newcomers Freddy Carter (Shadow and Bone), Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), and horror veteran Skeet Ulrich (Scream).

The trailer hints at a broader world beyond the confines of Freddy’s, a move that expands both the scope and lore of the franchise. The tagline, “They’re not just at Freddy’s anymore,” sets the tone for a sequel that will venture beyond the pizzeria’s neon-lit terror into a larger, more ominous conspiracy surrounding the origins of the murderous mascots.
Director Emma Tammi, who returns after helming the first instalment, once again collaborates with series creator Scott Cawthon, who penned the screenplay and co-produces with Jason Blum. Together, they have crafted what promises to be both a continuation and reinvention of the phenomenon that reignited horror’s box office dominance.
The film’s release marks a major milestone for Blumhouse following a string of successes including M3GAN and The Black Phone. With Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the studio aims to recapture the lightning-in-a-bottle appeal that turned the first film into a cultural event and a new era of horror fandom.

The new one-sheet, revealed alongside the trailer, offers a haunting image of Freddy’s infamous grin… a reminder that survival at this carnival of terror is anything but guaranteed.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 will stalk into UK cinemas on 5 December 2025 from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse.
