‘Director’s Cut’ Slices Into the UK with Twisted Punk Horror Mayhem
A new nightmare is rolling out this November as Director’s Cut, the grisly feature debut from writer-director Don Capria, heads to UK audiences following its acclaimed festival run. The film will premiere on digital on 3 November through Miracle Media, promising a ferocious blend of music, murder and mayhem that turns the concept of artistic obsession into a full-blown bloodbath.

Capria, known for short films Anecdota and Eulogy, steps behind the camera for his first feature-length project and crafts a story that blurs the line between art and atrocity. Louis Lombardi, familiar to audiences from The Sopranos and 24, stars as a volatile filmmaker whose hunger for creative control spirals into homicidal madness. The result is a meta-slasher with a punk rock pulse and a mean streak that critics have so far described as “down and dirty” and “highly recommended.”
The film follows struggling punk outfit The Suicide Disease, a band teetering on the brink of collapse after the death of a close friend. Financially and emotionally drained, the group receives a mysterious offer from a filmmaker eager to shoot their next music video for free. Against their better judgement, they drive into the Pennsylvania woods, unaware that their supposed saviour is about to transform their shoot into a sadistic snuff production.

As the cameras roll, the band’s tensions rise and the director’s mask begins to slip, revealing a sinister agenda. With the help of his unsettling assistant, played by Lucy Hart (Pleasure), Lombardi’s character subjects his unwitting cast to psychological torment and brutal violence in the name of “art.” What begins as a rock video quickly devolves into a claustrophobic horror show, steeped in exploitation-era grit and indie ferocity.
Following its successful US release and festival acclaim, Director’s Cut is being hailed as a savage and darkly comic addition to the growing wave of DIY horror cinema. Capria’s debut channels the raw energy of 80s VHS slashers while injecting it with a modern commentary on ego, exploitation and the cult of fame.
Director’s Cut premieres on digital platforms across the UK on 3 November 2025.
