LEGEND Brings ‘Drive’ and ‘Acceleration’ to August Line-Up
LEGEND has announced a bumper slate of action and adventure for August 2025, headlined by the UK television premiere of Acceleration and the channel debut of Nicolas Winding Refn’s acclaimed neo-noir Drive. The month-long schedule promises a mix of modern thrillers, retro Westerns and cult classics, alongside the arrival of Charlie’s Angels, which lands on LEGEND for the first time.

The schedule kicks off on 7 August with Acceleration, a 2019 thriller starring Dolph Lundgren as Vladik Zorich, a ruthless Los Angeles crime lord who dominates the city’s underworld. When his trusted operative Rhona Zyocki, played by Natalie Burn, betrays him, Zorich retaliates by abducting her young son. What follows is a high-stakes fight for survival as Rhona turns against her former employer in a bid to save her child.
Also joining the channel’s line-up is Drive, screening on 10 August. The 2011 feature cemented Ryan Gosling’s reputation as a leading man and became a defining entry in contemporary crime cinema. Gosling plays a stoic Hollywood stuntman and part-time getaway driver whose quiet existence unravels after a botched heist. With a supporting cast including Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac and Bryan Cranston, Drive remains a benchmark for style-driven genre filmmaking.

Other premieres across the month include Robin Hood: The Rebellion, featuring Brian Blessed as Friar Tuck, prison thriller How I Spent My Summer Vacation with Mel Gibson, and Renny Harlin’s action thriller 12 Rounds starring John Cena. Lou Diamond Phillips heads up the cast of Big Kill, a sharp-shooting Western, while Pathfinder, starring Karl Urban, offers a brutal reimagining of Viking clashes in pre-Columbian America.
From 25 August, LEGEND will also broadcast the original Charlie’s Angels series, with Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith as three skilled policewomen turned private detectives. The 1970s phenomenon sparked a media franchise that continues to inspire reinventions today.

Closing out the summer schedule, 12 Rounds brings high-octane thrills on 30 August as Cena’s Detective Danny Fisher faces a sadistic game of survival against a vengeful criminal mastermind.
