HorrorConUK Turns Ten with Blood, Celebs and a Weekend of Screams
The UK’s largest celebration of horror culture is back, and it’s pulling out all the stops for its 10th anniversary. HorrorConUK returns to Rotherham’s Magna Science Adventure Centre on 17 and 18 May, bringing with it a weekend stacked with genre legends, film reunions, gore-fuelled festivities and a fanbase more alive than ever.

Now firmly established as a cornerstone of the UK horror calendar, the event has evolved from its fan-led beginnings into a global magnet for lovers of the macabre. This year’s edition sees the convention embrace its milestone with an ambitious guest list and a slate of immersive events that span films, art, cosplay, and community.
The headline guests for 2025 include a Hellraiser reunion, featuring cast from Clive Barker’s seminal franchise. With appearances from key Cenobites and behind-the-scenes contributors, the event marks a rare convergence of one of horror’s most enduring creations. Fans can expect panels, photo ops and exclusive signings from the stars of Barker’s twisted universe.
British actor Ralph Ineson, best known for his role in The Witch and recently cast in Fantastic Four, will also appear, alongside Alice Krige, who returns to the convention spotlight after her performances in Silent Hill, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Star Trek: First Contact. Director Ti West, whose films X, Pearl and MaXXXine have cemented his reputation as one of modern horror’s most distinctive voices, joins the roster alongside Neil Maskell (Kill List, Bull), Crypt Keeper voice actor John Kassir, cult favourite John Philbin, and filmmaking duo Jen and Sylvia Soska, also known as The Twisted Twins.

The event also caters to fans of horror outside the screen. Graham Humphreys, the artist behind some of the genre’s most iconic posters, will be signing and exhibiting work. The Midlands Body Paint Project promises live horror transformations across both days, while the Horror Icons scare crew will once again be haunting the venue’s corridors.
The convention floor will also host a short horror film festival featuring global selections, a Cineworld-sponsored cosplay contest judged by Dame Bunny Galore, and discussions moderated by genre specialists Darrell Buxton and Tony Earnshaw.
Adding an altruistic twist to the bloodshed, the NHS Blood and Transplant Service will be on-site, raising awareness and encouraging attendees to register as donors, tying in neatly with the convention’s vampiric leanings.

Over the past decade, HorrorConUK has cultivated a loyal international following, driven by its commitment to creating a welcoming space for horror fans of all stripes. From its celebration of independent voices to its tribute to screen legends, the convention is now seen as a key gathering point for the horror community in the UK and beyond.
With a packed programme and a venue known for its industrial eeriness, the 2025 edition is poised to offer a full sensory dive into horror culture. Entry is by ticket only, and with demand expected to be high, fans are advised to secure their place soon.
