‘Echo Valley’ Sees Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney Caught in a Bloody Family Secret
Apple TV+ has released the official trailer and key art for Echo Valley, a psychological thriller headlined by Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney. Directed by BAFTA-winner Michael Pearce and written by Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby, the film will premiere globally on 13 June 2025.

Set in rural Pennsylvania, the story centres on Kate Garrett, played by Moore, a horse trainer living in relative seclusion as she grieves a personal loss. Her world is upended when her daughter Claire, portrayed by Sweeney, arrives unannounced in the dead of night, blood-soaked and barely coherent. What begins as a panicked reunion between mother and daughter quickly spirals into a tense and potentially deadly situation, forcing Kate to make unthinkable choices in order to protect what’s left of her family.
The trailer teases a story that leans heavily on the claustrophobic intensity of its isolated setting, combined with a slow-burning sense of dread. The tension is further heightened by the film’s stark visual palette and a glimpse at Domhnall Gleeson’s character, whose involvement suggests deeper complications lurking behind Claire’s cryptic appearance.

Echo Valley brings together a formidable cast beyond its leads, with Kyle MacLachlan, Fiona Shaw, Edmund Donovan, and Albert Jones supporting. The project is produced by Ridley Scott and Michael Pruss for Scott Free Films, alongside Kevin J. Walsh and Brad Ingelsby. Executive producers include Erika Olde, Sam Roseme, Nicole Jordan-Webber, Rebecca Feuer, Ted Deiker, and Scott Greenberg.
Filmed in New Jersey under the working title Wildvale, the film wrapped in June 2023 following a shoot in Hunterdon and Morris counties. Though Apple has kept plot specifics under wraps, the trailer suggests a grounded but emotionally volatile thriller that leans as much into its central mother-daughter relationship as it does its genre mechanics.

Pearce, best known for Beast and Encounter, directs from a script by Ingelsby, whose previous work has focused on morally compromised characters facing community and familial fallout. That dynamic appears central to Echo Valley, which looks set to explore loyalty, trauma and how far someone might go to protect their own.
Echo Valley will be available exclusively on Apple TV+ beginning 13 June.
