‘The Stuff’ Is Back and Hungrier Than Ever

Arrow Films is reviving one of the most bizarre and biting satires in horror cinema with the announcement of a new Limited Edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray release of The Stuff, set to hit shelves on 21 July. Originally unleashed on audiences in 1985, Larry Cohen’s cult sci-fi horror gem serves up a sharp jab at American consumerism, advertising manipulation, and the insatiable appetite of the masses – all wrapped in gooey, alien-infested packaging.

The Stuff follows David “Mo” Rutherford, a former FBI agent turned industrial saboteur, who teams up with junk food magnate Charles “Chocolate Chip Charlie” Hobbs and a young boy named Jason. Their goal: uncover the sinister truth behind the wildly popular dessert sweeping the nation. The new Limited Edition release from Arrow Films promises to deliver a feast for collectors and longtime fans. This two-disc set includes a brand-new 4K restoration from the original camera negative, Dolby Vision presentation, and both newly recorded and archival audio commentaries. For die-hard collectors, the set features a reversible sleeve with original and new artwork, an illustrated booklet with essays and analyses, and a second Blu-ray disc offering a rare pre-release cut of the film. This alternate version includes over 30 minutes of additional footage and an entirely different music score, adding new layers to a film already packed with strange surprises.
