‘Overkill’ Brings Deadly Cat-and-Mouse Horror to Digital This Month
The brutal and unrelenting Overkill, the latest horror thriller from writer-director George Kaplan (Abduction: The Harvesting), arrives on UK digital platforms on 18th November. Courtesy of Miracle Media, the film offers a gripping tale of a true crime podcaster caught in a deadly game with a relentless serial killer.

Overkill follows Cassidy, portrayed by Alexis VanDyke (The True Blue Ripper), a podcaster whose fascination with uncovering the truth leads her into the path of danger. After her former college roommate Taylor (Carol Kim) is found murdered, Cassidy begins investigating the case, uncovering unsettling details that suggest a pattern. But as the killer moves closer, Cassidy realises she isn’t just reporting the story—she’s part of it.
With the rise of true crime content capturing the imaginations of global audiences, Overkill taps into the genre’s allure while delivering a chilling tale of survival. Kaplan’s direction keeps the tension taut, pitting Cassidy against a cunning predator in a cat-and-mouse pursuit that questions the limits of her determination and wits. Drawing on his experience in Timeline and Abduction: The Harvesting, Kaplan crafts a story that’s as much about psychological tension as it is about blood-curdling terror.
VanDyke is set to bring a gripping performance to the role of Cassidy, blending resourcefulness with vulnerability as her character fights to stay one step ahead of the killer. Carol Kim (Crooked Parallel Lines) and Brian Rich (This Is Not My Beautiful House) round out the cast, each contributing to the film’s unnerving atmosphere.

Horror films exploring human predators, from serial killers to vampires, have maintained a strong following due to their chilling reflections of real-world fears. Overkill adds to this tradition with its focus on the dangers of obsession and the risks of digging too deep into dark truths.
Overkill will be available to stream and download on 18th November, and is worth checking out if you’re a fan of intense psychological thrillers and unflinching horror.
