Screambox has unleashed its October line-up, promising an eerie selection of horror films and series to keep viewers on edge as the spooky season sets in. The latest batch of releases features a mix of original content, cult classics, and frightful exclusives that will surely satisfy horror lovers, just in time for Halloween. Among the titles are Tales from the Void, Crackcoon, and Haunted Ulster Live, each bringing a different flavour of fear.

Tales from the Void Grimmfest Into the Unknown

Leading the charge this month is Tales from the Void, a Screambox Original anthology series that taps into some of the most bone-chilling tales from Reddit’s famed NoSleep community. With new episodes arriving every Sunday from October 13 to October 27, this horror anthology draws inspiration from the viral stories that have haunted the dark corners of the internet. Featuring segments from notable directors like Joe Lynch (Mayhem) and John Adams & Toby Poser (Hellbender), Tales from the Void aims to unsettle with a mix of psychological scares and supernatural twists that are bound to keep viewers glued to the screen.

If your idea of horror is tinged with a dose of absurdity, then Crackcoon might be just what you’re looking for. The Screambox Original, now available on the platform, blends horror and comedy in a bizarre concoction described as “Rocket Raccoon meets Cocaine Bear.” When a drug dealer discards a synthetic street drug during a police chase, an unsuspecting raccoon consumes it, turning into a nightmarish predator. As the innocent creature mutates into a monstrous killing machine, terror spreads across a mountain community, leaving campers, tourists, and residents all in peril. Directed by Brad Twigg, the film features appearances by horror veteran John A. Russo, known for his work on Night of the Living Dead, along with a cast that includes Rosaria Eraso, Justin P. Martin, and Jessa Flux. Crackcoon delivers its twisted sense of humour and over-the-top scares, making it the perfect addition to any Halloween movie marathon.

Another highlight this month is Haunted Ulster Live, an atmospheric thriller that invites viewers to relive a Halloween night in 1998 that goes terribly wrong. Comparisons to Ghostwatch and Late Night with the Devil come naturally, as this Screambox Exclusive takes the form of a live broadcast that escalates into chaos. Inspired by classic horror tropes and traditional Irish storytelling, director Dominic O’Neill fuses folk horror with the format of a ghost-hunting show gone wrong. The story follows TV veteran Gerry Burns and children’s presenter Michelle Kelly as they investigate a supposedly haunted house on Castlereagh Road in Belfast. During a live séance, an unseen force abducts the youngest child, thrusting the presenters into a terrifying ordeal that is broadcast for all to see. The throwback to late-90s ghost stories and the blend of live TV panic makes Haunted Ulster Live a compelling watch for fans of supernatural suspense.

In addition to these marquee titles, Screambox is also celebrating the 50th anniversary of Tobe Hooper’s iconic horror classic, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Leatherface returns to the small screen, inviting both new viewers and longtime fans to revisit the terror that redefined the slasher genre. Hooper’s unrelenting masterpiece continues to captivate audiences, and its availability on Screambox is a perfect homage to its enduring impact on horror cinema.

Screambox’s October line-up doesn’t stop there, as it also includes the Halloween anthology All Hallows’ Eve: Trickster, indie slasher Dark Windows, and the eleventh season of Bloody Disgusting’s bite-sized horror showcase, Bloody Bites. For fans of paranormal investigations, The Dark Zone’s Balgonie Castle investigation—featuring Star Wars producer Rick McCallum—also adds to the spine-tingling mix.

This October, Screambox invites viewers to experience horror in its many forms, from ghostly tales and comedy-laced mayhem to suspenseful investigations and classic scares. For those who want to embrace every frightful moment of the Halloween season, Screambox can be accessed on a wide range of platforms, including iOS, Android, Apple TV, Prime Video, Roku, Fire TV, YouTube TV, Samsung, Comcast, Cox, and through their website at Screambox.com.
