Exciting Week for Storm King

This week marks a thrilling period for Storm King Productions and Storm King Comics, packed with significant announcements and exciting releases.
Firstly, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced that John Carpenter will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2025. This honour celebrates Carpenter’s monumental contributions to the film industry, recognising his iconic work in horror and sci-fi cinema.
In tandem with this announcement, Storm King Productions has launched a completely revamped website. The new site features an extensive comics section, offering fans up-to-date information and news about John Carpenter and Sandy King Carpenter. The redesigned platform aims to enhance user experience and provide a comprehensive hub for all things Storm King. You can see it today at stormkingproductions.com
Adding to the excitement, Storm King Comics will release Blood of the Taken by Sian Mandrake this autumn. This graphic novel introduces Theo, a 500-year-old vampire with a maternal instinct, who haunts a small town in Western Massachusetts in search of new blood and a new family. This stylish and bold take on the classic vampire tale is set to captivate horror fans with its inventive visual style and gripping narrative.

Sandy King Carpenter, founder and editor of Storm King Comics, expressed her enthusiasm for the project: “The moment I discovered the work Sian had been doing on their own to create a crowdfunded version of this story, I knew that Storm King was the perfect place for this exquisite, fun and no-holds-barred approach. Sian has done nothing less than breathe new life into a classic horror tale, and I can’t wait for the world to see this gorgeous and captivating book.”
Blood of the Taken features lettering by Janice Chiang and will be available directly from Storm King Comics on 18 September, with a broader release through comic book stores and book retailers on 1 October. This marks Mandrake’s debut graphic novel, continuing the legacy of excellence in comics established by their parents, Tom Mandrake and Jan Duursema.
In addition to Blood of the Taken, July will see the release of two graphic novels by Steve Niles: The Killing Hole, illustrated by Trevor Denham, and The God List, a collaboration with Scott Hampton. These works further exemplify Storm King Comics’ dedication to delivering vibrant and imaginative horror, fantasy, and sci-fi stories.
Storm King Comics has also been recognised with the Foreword Indie Comics Gold Award for Fetch Book One: The Journey, by Mike Sizemore, with artwork by Dave Kennedy and Pete Kennedy. This accolade highlights the creative power and appeal of their storytelling.

All these exciting new releases will be showcased at the Storm King Comics booth at San Diego Comic-Con this July, promising fans an engaging and immersive experience.
Stay tuned for more updates and prepare for an unforgettable journey into the realms of horror and fantasy with Storm King Comics.
