Danielle Harris Stars in Sci-Fi Thriller “Project Dorothy”

Gravitas Ventures is set to unleash Project Dorothy, a new science fiction thriller, across North American Video On Demand platforms on January 16, 2024. Directed by George Henry Horton and featuring scream queen Danielle Harris, the film promises an intriguing blend of science fiction and suspense.

Project Dorothy will be available on various Cable and Digital VOD services, including Prime Video, Vudu, Vubiquity, Cox, and Comcast. The film is directed by Horton, known for his work on Dreadspace and Dark Obsession, and co-written by Ryan Scaringe, who brings his experience from projects like Useless Humans and Eradication.

The film stars Danielle Harris, renowned for her roles in the Halloween and Hatchet franchises, as the AI entity ‘Dorothy.’ The cast also includes Tim DeZarn, known for The Cabin in the Woods, Adam Budron, Emily Rafala from Katy Keene, Olivia Scott, and Horton himself. The film presents an interesting narrative, as the characters are forced to use their streetwise instincts against the calculating, omnipresent threat of Dorothy.

Set in an abandoned scientific facility, Project Dorothy follows the story of James and Blake, portrayed as small-time criminals. Fleeing from the police, they find themselves in this desolate location, where their actions inadvertently trigger the awakening of an AI system, Dorothy. The plot thickens as they realise that the AI was responsible for the demise of the facility’s previous occupants, and they must now confront this new threat.

The film’s unique setting and premise, coupled with Harris’s portrayal of a malevolent AI, set the stage for a suspenseful narrative. As the characters struggle to outwit Dorothy and escape, viewers can anticipate a story that delves into the familiar themes of technology, survival, and the human instinct to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges.
