Horror Channel to screen ‘Mad Science’ Season


Another exciting new season is making its way to Horror Channel entitled ‘Mad Science Season’.

You can expect to catch some eighties classics as the channel hosts network premieres of David Cronenberg’s Scanners and Stuart Gordon’s Re-Animator. Added to the heady nostalgic horror mix are Basket Case and Class of Nuke ‘Em High.

Everything kicks off on Friday 6th February at 22.50 with Cronenberg’s hugely influential sci-fi horror Scanners, which is now seen as a top 50 horror classic of all time, and stars Michael Ironside, Jennifer O’Neill and Patrick McGoohan.

Friday 13th February has a surprise in store at 22:50 when Basket Case opens to reveal the curious odity that dwells within.
And on Friday 20th February at 22:50 director Richard W. Haines takes us back to school with Class of Nuke ‘Em High (1986).

Then to finish things up on Friday 27th February at 22:50 Re-Animator is resurrected once more for our viewing pleasure, giving a curious fusion of dark horror and hilarity.Re-animator-WEB4

Sat 28 Feb @ 22:50 – And if you’re still hungry for more you can catch the UK TV premiere of Harpoon: Reykjavik Whale Watching Massacre (2009)
In the movie a group of tourists embark on a sightseeing trip aboard a whaling vessel with none other than Captain Gunnar (Leatherface) Hansen. When the ship breaks down the day-trippers come under attack from a crew of deranged Fishbillies hell-bent on mayhem and slaughter. What follows are surreal sea battles which in a film that has been described as being ‘the first exploitation film made by the Icelandic Film Industry’.
