Sinister reigned supreme as an unyielding horror classic-to-be at this year’s Frightfest, in no doubt down to a compelling central performance from Ethan Hawke as Ellison Oswald, the most enigmatic yet opaque writer to hit the silver screen since Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

Plagued by his past success, it’s Ellison’s inner dialogue that unnerves the viewer as he begins to lose plot of what really matters to him.
