Former college wide-receiver Tyriq Withers stars as Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback whose entire identity is built around football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is brutally attacked by an unhinged fan and left with potentially career-ending brain trauma.
Just as his future appears to collapse, Cam is offered a lifeline by his idol, Isaiah White (Marlon Wayans), a legendary eight-time Championship-winning quarterback and cultural icon. Isaiah invites Cam to train at his isolated compound, shared with his celebrity influencer wife, Elsie (Julia Fox). But as the training intensifies, Isaiah’s magnetic charisma begins to curdle into something far more sinister, dragging Cam into a disorienting spiral that may cost him far more than he ever imagined.
The film also features a dynamic supporting cast including Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, MMA heavyweight Maurice Greene, and hip hop artists Guapdad 4000 and Tierra Whack, all three making their feature film debuts.
Directed by Justin Tipping (Kicks) from an acclaimed Black List screenplay by Zack Akers & Skip Bronkie, HIM is produced by Ian Cooper, Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld and Jamal M. Watson for Monkeypaw Productions.
