Happy New Year, my fright friends. Did you have a lovely magical beautiful Christmas holiday? You did?….You disgust me! Luckily, I’m back with another wretched review from the darkness to address the balance. So why not start off this year with a humdinger of a horror; trashy slashy Chelsea Films production, ‘The Watermen’.
Ever seen the movie Zodiac? I bet a number of you are furiously nodding your heads, but I’m referring to, specifically, the 2007 incarnation. If you’re still agreeing then you have my platform; my foundation for which I judge every serial killer biopic ever made post or pre-Zodiac.
Let’s face it – how many of you guys have ever heard of Umbrage: The First Vampire? You were probably of the understanding that Dracula or Nosferatu held that title so to realise that he exists, much like this movie, must come as somewhat of a surprise.
Atrocious is a provocative title, so when I read it I was immediately intrigued. Using a singular adjective as a title to describe the issues to come in a horror film typically implies that it means business. Take Creep, or Scream, or Insidious – the list goes on.
