‘Big Baby’ Screams Meta Slasher Chaos at FrightFest
Get ready to throw your toys out of the pram because Big Baby is coming to Tubi FrightFest London. Spider One’s twisted meta-slasher receives its UK premiere on 27 August, introducing festival audiences to a baby-masked killer and a writer whose darkest nightmares begin spilling into real life.

Presented by Lightbulb Film Distribution, the meta-slasher blends self-aware horror with psychological unease, following a screenwriter whose recurring nightmares about a murderer in a baby mask begin to seep into his waking life. As reality starts to fracture, he is forced to question whether the bloodshed haunting his imagination is really fiction at all.
Brandon Scott leads the cast alongside Krsy Fox, Adam Marcinowski, Catherine Corcoran, Chaz Bono and David Howard Thornton, whose portrayal of Art the Clown in the Terrifier films has made him one of modern horror’s most recognisable screen villains.
Spider One, best known as the frontman of industrial metal band Powerman 5000 as well as the filmmaker behind Bury the Bride, writes and directs the feature. The project also reunites him creatively with Krsy Fox following their previous collaborations, while Academy Award winner Cher serves as executive producer, continuing her involvement with the pair after backing Little Bites.

The film’s premise leans into horror’s long-running fascination with blurred lines between creators and their creations. Rather than simply placing a masked killer at the centre of the story, Big Baby follows a writer whose own screenplay appears to bleed into everyday life, turning the familiar slasher formula back on itself. It is a playful concept, at least on paper, though the trailer suggests Spider One has little interest in holding back when it comes to the violence.
Lightbulb Film Distribution’s Sales and Acquisitions Director Peter Thompson believes the film is well suited to FrightFest’s audience.
‘We are thrilled that the UK premiere of Big Baby will take place at FrightFest, the Dark Heart of Cinema. Spider One has crafted an imaginative meta-slasher filled with violence and blood that gore-hounds will absolutely feast on.’
The supporting cast also brings considerable genre credentials. Corcoran is widely known for her appearances in Terrifier and Return to Nuke ‘Em High, while Fox recently starred in Little Bites and Terrifier 3. Marcinowski returns after appearing in Bury the Bride, and Bono adds further horror experience following roles including American Horror Story.

Following its FrightFest screening, Big Baby will receive a wide home entertainment release across Digital, Blu-ray and DVD. The film will be available through platforms including Amazon, Apple TV, Sky Store, YouTube Movies and Rakuten TV, giving audiences who miss its festival debut a chance to catch up only a short time later.
The UK premiere of Big Baby takes place at Tubi FrightFest London on Thursday 27 August 2026. The film will then be released on Digital, Blu-ray and DVD from 7 September 2026 through Lightbulb Film Distribution.
