Haunted Highballs Kicks Off Spooky Season at London’s Horror Brewery

London’s horror-loving craft brewery Werewolf Beer is getting an early start on spooky season this September, launching a new run of Halloween-flavoured events with a cocktail masterclass from Chockie Tom and two suitably sinister additions to the taproom menu.

Werewolf Beer

The Camden-based brewery – known to many as ‘one of the few UK places that brews pumpkin beer’ (I know, right?!) – will host Haunted Highballs on 10 September, with Chockie Tom taking over the bar for a two-hour session built around three Halloween cocktails.

Tom is Thomas Henry’s UK Brand Ambassador and Advocacy Lead, as well as the creative force behind Doommersive, formerly known as Doom Tiki, an immersive cocktail project that blends theatrical presentation, dark aesthetics and a heavy dose of doom-metal attitude.

For the Werewolf Beer session, she will be working with Fernet, Cazcabel, Thomas Henry and Giffard to create three drinks while guiding guests through the process of putting together Halloween cocktails at home.

Tickets are priced at £20 and include all three drinks as well as the full class, with the event running from 7pm to 9pm. Places can be booked in advance or, subject to availability, at the taproom before 6.30pm on the night.

The brewery has also added two new house shots to its permanent menu. Moondust combines Cazcabel Coffee with edible glitter and is served cold, while Foxfire, inspired by Werewolf Beer’s resident brewery fox Hops, mixes Cazcabel Honey with chipotle peppers and a finishing hit of Miguelito spicy salt.

Tom has also suggested pairing Foxfire with the brewery’s seasonal Hell-O-Ween beer as a boilermaker, while Moondust has been matched with Kadillac, Werewolf Beer’s coffee stout.

Founded in 2020 by American brewer Rich White, Werewolf Beer has carved out a distinctive place in London’s craft beer scene by combining classic US-inspired brewing with a horror-heavy identity. Its taproom at Arch 87 on Randolph Street mixes the feel of an old American roadside stop with haunted-house décor, including vintage ghost train cars dating back to the 1950s.

The brewery’s regular line-up includes Psychobilly American Pale Ale, Moonstomp Rice Lager, Horrorshow Rye IPA and Creepster American Brown Ale, while seasonal releases such as Hell-O-Ween lean even further into the horror theme.

The September programme continues on 16 September with the brewery’s monthly networking night, offering a deliberately less corporate take on meeting new people over a pint, while live music, comedy and themed events remain a regular part of the venue’s calendar.

Haunted Highballs takes place at Werewolf Beer, Arch 87 Randolph Street, London NW1 0SR, on 10 September from 7pm to 9pm, with tickets priced at £20. For more information, visit: werewolfbeer.com/
