What She Doesn’t Know (2025) Review

What She Doesn’t Know is the latest film from director Juan Pablo Arias Munoz, and is co-written and co-produced by Terry Castle (daughter of The House On Haunted Hill director William Castle, and producer of that film’s remake, as well as Thir13en Ghosts). And what is quickly apprent with this film is that it stirs up a mixture of horror and thriller elements to create a compelling watch.

What She Doesn't Know

The plot involves student Indy and her friends Brynn and Jordan, as they wrestle with their impending futures after finishing school and contemplating all their college options. But all the while that this is going on, a serial killer is on the loose and causing terror. After locking themselves in a mansion that belongs to Brynn’s father, things quickly unravel and those impending futures soon seem like they might not happen at all. And with other characters coming into play, a dizzying display of terror plays out which is set to keep the audience perched on the front of their seats.

With very tense music adding to the atmosphere, What She Doesn’t Know is a slow-burning movie that will keep you gripped all the way through. Even as the pproaches its end and things get wrapped up, everything isn’t quite as it seems and the taut atmosphere doesn’t let up. Instead it hangs in the air, just like the serial killer, waiting to strike.

With powerful performances from the three main actors in Siena Agudong (Indy), Jessica Belkin (Brynn) and Conor Husting (Jordan), the main core of the film is solid. Added to that is a very capable supporting cast, which even includes a turn from Denise Richards. The strength of their portrayals of the characters makes this is a film that will have you hooked as the story unfolds, and will undoubtedly leave you guessing all the way through.

What She Doesn't Know

Although What She Doesn’t Know does play more like a thriller for the most part, there are several horrific elements that will take you be surprise and will be sure to satisfy any horror fans needs. The bleak vibe of the film amplifies that desperate feeling of being stuck in a secluded place. And the threat of a serial killer looming, only adds to the tension.

If you are looking for a film that is a unrelentingly tense and horrific affair (though it has to be said that there is more emphasis on the latter) What She Doesn’t Know is the movie for you. It’s full of striking visual elements, has performances that keep you engaged throughout, and it has a plot that is clever enough to keep you guessing.

One warning though, if you do decide to watch it, you may never look at eating ribs the same way again! Bon appetit!
