Unrestricted Views from from Ben Steiner & Dan Dixon creators of The Stomach

Love Horror: Tell us about your film?111
It’s a crime thriller ghost story body horror. We call it ‘supernatural Noir’.

Love Horror: How did you get into making horror movies?
I’ve always been drawn to the morbid and macabre. I used to express that in drawing and painting but once I got as far as my limited talent could take me, I thought I’d give filmmaking a whirl.

Love Horror: What is your view on horror in 2016 and how would you change it?
It’s in a bad way. Clichés and jump-scares abound. Most so-called horror is actually very reassuring to the viewer; they know what’s coming so they can relax into it.

Love Horror: What is your favourite horror film and why?
The Shining. It’s nightmarishly terrifying and as a family man I can relate to Jack’s impulse to butcher his wife and children and hang out at a free bar for the rest of time.

Love Horror: If Hollywood came knocking and gave you anything you wanted what movie would you make and who would it star?
I’d take their ludicrous budget and make all four films on my slate with it.

The Stomach plays at Unrestricted View Horror Film Festival at 8.25pm on 2nd November. Find out more and book your tickets Here https://www.unrestrictedview.co.uk/uvhff-the-london-horror-society-presents/
